Photoshop issues please help tis frustrating?

I just transferred photoshop onto my new laptop from a memory stick and now I'm trying it out. I went to the 1001freefonts.com website to get some additional cool looking fonts and I'm having trouble downloading fonts. It gives me a symbol. When I open the file, it just says done at the left top corner and print on the right. Is there something I need to do to allow access to these fonts? I even checked the c:/ windows/font folder and didn't see the fonts I installed in there. What can I do?
